to heavy for me or not ?

hi.. i have a 1964 14 ft sea star tri hull.. it came with a 1964 40 hp seahorse on it. i have a 1974 65 hp merc as back up is that to heavy and big for this ol boy ?

check your rating plate on the boat, should show max rated horsepower, as far as weight goes in a boat that size every pound counts so heavier motor will mean less beer in the cooler!

Yeah, I'm pretty sure that 40hp is big enuf. Prolly it's max rating.

Starts on Page #2 about 3/4 the way down. I'll admit my answer was short and a little vague and prolly not quite specific enough. I should have included the link as you asked for. I prolly also should have said this is to be used as a "Guide" and not and Aboslute!!!

It was right before lunch and I was in a hurry!!! Possibly a bit misleading but still a good Guide IMHO
