Hey fellas, you talked me out of buying a Bayliner last month, and the more I find out about Bayliners, the more I thank you. I feel like an ass for needing so much advice. If anyone knows a non-biased web site where I could do the research myself, I'd sure be interested. So this month it's a 1999 VIP new in the showroom. 18' 205hp Mercury V6 w/ trailer $17,400. As always, appreciate any and all advice. Also, how negotiable is a price like that from a dealer?

They got any more? the motor is worth around 9 billz allone, maybe more! A rigged and ready to float boat the price is very fair. I can't vouch for the hull, but I am baised towards Merc.
Nothing beats thier R&D (lake"X" and such).
And they are historicly reliable manufacturers.
If the financing is agreeable, the dealer has been around for a long time, and his shop has one open bay, rock and roll.
Shop around for a low note and insurance premium, after you have negotiated lowest price.
