Hello This is my first boat I know nothing about boats really. But im very keen to learn.
I have a 60 outboard mercury oil injection 1992 engine on a
fletcher boat. After a half an hour run in the boat. I get a high pitched
tinitus sound comming from my quicksilver throttle housing box. The
engine still runs ok. There is plenty of oil and petrol. Also water is
pumping out the side hole im not sure if its enough to keep it cool. Can anyone please help?
Ive took the engine apart and checked the "impeller" it looked fine and dandy but the gasket seal was almost none existant. I have took the impeller in and they said replace it anyways which I have. Im waiting for my gasket its going to take at least a week to get it ordered. Could a gasket cause this ear pearcing sound? Because of over heating perhaps? Or maybe something else? Also if I rev the engine on muffs should there be more water comming out? I never noticed a change previously.
> Thank you very much for reading.
> Regards....
> Derek
