EST ignition. With engine running and warmed up installed jumper on distributor and shorted cutout switch. I did not notice a change in RPM. Set tIming 1degree BTDC. Removed jumper and the timing stayed the same. I don’t believe I am getting ignition timing to enter base mode. I crimped new bullet terminals on distributor, installed new distributor module, no joy. Idle Rpm was about 800 and steady. Why won’t ignition enter base mode? Is there a trick I’m missing? I’m performing this check in my driveway with digital gun.
Also I can’t set RPM with throttle as it shoots past 3000 when it gets to 2400 for the timing advance check. Help!
