Timing

Timing on 95 force 120. Push neutral
Bypass on lever and push wot. So it's
Wot in neutral. Is this correct?

Don't think so. That sounds like fast idle. Wot is had by pushing throttle forward in gear engine off.

Foodfisher is correct. WOT in gear. The linkage will not allow you to go to WOT when in Neutral fast idle to prevent engine damage from accidental over revving without a load on the motor. When you crank the motor to check the timing, the propeller will be spinning. Be careful or remove the prop if you want.

I assume the neutral safety switch is behind the control just behind the neutral button. I watched video how to bypass but it was in engine compartment. I guess I bypass the same way with jumper wire or is it different?

I'm pretty sure the neutral safety switch on you motor is actually under the engine cowl by the throttle linkage by the carburetors. It has two yellow wires attached to it. Just jumper it to bypass it, or take some tape and push the white button in and use the tape to hold it in.

I found it behind the control. two yellow wires with red stripe cut and twisted together, now engine will turn in gear. its the quicksilver 3000. the dang mechanic at work had me doing wot in neutral. As far as setting rpm in water, can I use a handheld no contact tachometer with the reflective tape on flywheel? its all I have but I can get whatever I need. As always, thanks for helping

That's a different set up than what I'm used to seeing for the neutral safety. But them I'm not that familiar with the Quicksilver 3000 control though. Good to know.

Yes, you can use a no contact tachometer. Just be careful..... you are close to the spinning flywheel with teeth which act like a saw blade when they come into contact with flesh. Easier and safer to use a "Tiny Tach", or install a tachometer in your dash. Google Tiny Tach and take a look at it.

Well it would appear that your Quicksilver 3000 throttle will allow WOT in the neutral position. The older throttle controls would not allow that. Regardless, I've learned something about your Quicksilver 3000 control and you've verified that your timing is all set. My apologies if I caused any confusion. You should be good to go.
