I went to adjust my timing the other day on my 71' 1150 (115 hp) merc.
After I pulled the cowlings off and the top cover I noticed no timing pointer? There is a tape on the flywheel with the timing mark but no pointer that stands out at me?
I did see what looks like a pin hole on the distributor magneto pulley. Do I somehow use that to set the timing?
Or is the timing pointer missing on my motor? Is there a way I can rig something up if it is missing to adjust the timing?
