Id set the points at .018 and try timing at 8 deg.BTDC.Dwell is the amount of time the points remain closed to charge the coil. It varies with the initial setting of the point gap.You may want to check the gap at each lobe of the dist. If theres a worn lobe and you happen to use it to set the gap, the timing of the other 7 will occur a bit earlier because the point gap is now slightly tighter.Conversely, if you use a good lobe, the worm one will act like a miss because the points wont be opening for that cyl. to fire.
