Time to repower !!!!

Giving up on my engines, starting to nickle and dime me to death. Have a 1989 Robalo 2660. Great boat, running twin Mariner 200 h.p. Considering several manufacturers. Boat is heavy 4700lbs dry weight.<br /><br />Looking for opinions, experience, of course expertise. Also 4 stroke vs 2 stroke.

kahuna,<br />With an 89 model, you may look closely at the weight difference between the engines you have and newer 4 strokes or direct injection style engines... They are heavier and your stern will lower when you add heavier outboards to it. If you can get 4 strokes on it go for it, but I would find the weight difference and add that weight to the top of those mariners and see how she sits before I parted with my money.<br />The newer, old fashioned 2 strokes are probably closer to the weight you have right now.
