Im at a loss first off I have a 1988 Johnson VR0 120HP
Motor is stuck in the down position.

My switch is on the throttle it defenitly engauges in the down postion when pressed to bring it up its dead silence.

Tried following all the wires when I got to the relay I noticed the green side harness looked as if it was fried, today I replaced both relay and and harness feeling I resolved my problem that wasn't the answer.

Not sure where to go from here could be the switch is it the motor don't know what to do at this point. I read where I can take the green lead and hook it up to the positive side of a 12 volt battery did that with both the blue and green and nothing happended yet when reconnected the blue or down lead works at the switch.
Someone rescue me or I m at the mercy of my repair man.

Re: Tilt Trim

If the trim motor will work in either direction, the trim motor is not the problem.

If you switched the relays and the problem stays where it was, it is not the relays.

That just leaves the wiring.

The motor gets both positve and negative voltage through the same blue and green wires at the motor. The relays switch polarity depending on which way you throw the switch.
