Tilt/trim worth it?

Couldn't imagine not having tilt/trim on my old I/O. What would it be like to not have tt on a 55 Evinrude O/B? For some reason I can't see myself hanging on the back of the boat and keep from going in the drink while trying to tilt a several hundred pound outboard while the boat is bobbing up and down in the chop. Can anyone tell me I'm not looking at this scenario correctly?

My first boat had an 85 Johnson with no T/T (1976). What a PITA.
Good thing I was young back then.
Would like to have it on my 25 'Rude but it's not in the budget, and I can handle this one pretty well.

Thats what I was thinking. My luck if I didn't pull a back muscle I'd fall into the water or something while manually tilting it up, lol.

I've never had a boat without it, couldn't imagine having to do it manually.
