Tilt Motor wiring, 1973 M F G Tri-Hull

Hello, I just bought a 1973 MFG Tri-Hull 17 FT with an O M C outdrive and a 120 HP GM Motor. <br /><br />Someone has really got the wiring on this thing in bad shape and I am starting to make a dent in it. The problem I have is the trim motor does not work and for me to know if everything is wired right on it I need a diagram of it. I do plan to buy a manual very soon. under the motor there is this thing that looks like a cylinder and has a green and red wire coming from it and comes to a harness at the end that looks like it would match the harness coming from the tilt motor, can some one tell me what this is and what it does. on the passenger side of the motor there is like 4 solenoids inline with one another and two wires are coming from it and going to the tilt motor. Behind the dash the wires going to the trim gauge and the tilt switch have got hot and burned in two. I have no idea how this goes back together.<br /> Heeeeelp ! <br /> Thank you please drive thru and come again.
