tilt motor runs, engine won't

Please help- 98 225 Evinrude Ocean Pro.

Tilt Problem, ran great for 2 yrs of ownership. Now, tilt motor runs and engine doesn't move. Stuck in up position!

Checked fluid pre-launch and was fine. Checked again after problem and it appeared full as it began to run out into the water. Closed Cap.

Tried to get release screw to move, frozen. Plan on hitting screw with liquied wrench, screwdriver hammer tap to allow engine to lower enough to get boat out of the water. Any downside?

Any suggestions?

AGAIN, Fluid appears full as it is running out when cap loosened, and manual release screw appears to be frozen!

You didnt hit anything previous to it sticking did you?? Sounds like you have high relief pressure caused by a sticking or plugged internal valve. Also make sure that the trim motor is running the right way. Check the pump face and manifold face for dirt or heavy scratches. Do you have a manual?

No hit, unless motor up was tagged in marina.

Didn't see anything on the pump indicating a problem.

Don't have a manual. Can order one, but will it arrive in time to get the darn boat out of the water?

How does one resolve high relief pressure?

Don't know if trim motor running right or wrong way, it makes same operation sound it always has, whether up or down buttons are pressed.

Also, at office so will have to look up model no. another time.

Hard to tell, small picture get's fuzzy when enlarged. Could very well be it, but am judging by overall unit placement not schematic as I haven't opened unit.

You have checked to be sure that no one has set the support bracket? And forgot?
