Hey guys, sorry for bumping this very old thread but pictures looks similar to my problem. I need to replace my tilt motor but cannot get that pin to move even a fraction of an inch. Tried with a big hammer and extension to reach where the blue arrow points, tried a c-clamp but it broke and got all twisted. so the pin is really stuck. The outboard is almost 20 years old so sure it has been sitting there for two decades :) my last thought was if it will work to use a flywheel puller on the red arrow side, which is threaded inside, to drag it out. Or do you guys have any other ideas? It is early summer and i really want to put the boat in the water soon :) but need to fix this first

Thank you so much and sorry for stealing this thread

With an open flame you can direct the heat around the pin. Not the pin also as a heat gun would do.

I drilled mine about an inch deep then beat it out with a modified air hammer bit and heat. Bit cut square so it wouldn't mushroom and the hole a close fit to the bit. It helped that I had the powerhead off and the motor bracket on the garage floor so I could bear down with my 225 pounds. Still took a while.

I successfully used two heat guns, one on each side. Saved almost all of the paint.
