There are check valves in the valve body.-----Need a drag link screwdriver to take them out.------Manual would help you.
Does a factory service manual include hydraulic schematics, and electrical schematics (not wiring diagrams)?

The kit I ordered is original omc and has 32 seals all the others I looked at had around 27 I believe.. Any advice would be great hate to order all new manuals but may have to.. Thanks

I have same problem with a 1979 Evinrude 115.
The defining symptom is that the 2 trim cylinders are extended and locked in that position.

The first photo shows the transom side of the assembly with 3 plugs removed. The plug at the right, below the motor, was under pressure. I had to use impact driver with the drag link socket to remove it. Once the plug backed out enough, presurized oil squirted out and I could move the trim cylinders.

The second photo shows the other side of the assembly. The open port on the left is directly in-line with one that relieved the pressure. I might have saved myself a lot of work if I had been able to remove the plug without removing the assembly from the engine. I didn't notice it.

From there all I did was refill the assembly with oil. It is working normally, at least for now. I did not remove or replace any valve in the assembly.

If I make it through the summer, I plan to open the photo 2 port before storing the boat for winter.

Those valves can be locked by a " high pressure event " so I believe it will work well again.

I agree. I might have caused a high pressure event by raising the tongue of my trailer while the bottom of the lower unit was on the ground. I've noticed in similar threads that the engine had been stored/inactive for some time.
