I would say very bad and if that were my boat I wouldnt use it untill it was fixed because it looks like the sort of crack thats going to get bigger untill it snaps right thru ....could cause loss of control if it lets go at speed ....and Im thinking replacement part (new or good used ) but Id also be wondering what caused that .Did yo have some sort of impact or other "mishap"?.

Possibly. However, it will need to come apart to do it correctly, so maybe try Evil Bay for a used Swivel Bracket. Be aware that there was still a 2 Stroke 50 being made that Yr too, and it used an entirely different Transom and Swivel Bracket

I bought boat at end of last summer and I did catch a rock one of my first times out, but I was going really slow so I don't think that done it. I haven't had and impacts this year it may have been like that when I bought it I don't know

Is this something that could be welded
Yeah but its not just a case of putting a bead of weld on that crack ,there is a LOT of prep work needed before welding . You would have dismantle the thing and then vee out both sides from top and underneath and be sure you had veed out all of the crack down to clean metal (or it will crack again ) a lot of the corrosion resistant paint coating removed (so it doesnt melt and contaminate the weld coz then you gotta start again )and then welded in stages so as to not distort the thing . I would be surprised if getting a new one wouldnt be a better option .
If your handy with spanners getting another cheap used motor with a munted powerhead or gearcase and swapping bits around might be an option .

Ok think I found one on the bay, number matches. Do I have to remove power head to replace this?

No , I dont think so but,............honestly I dont know for sure not being familiar with your model , I have done such disassembly on other outboards but there are others here that will know way more than me as to the actual procedure for your motor . Im pretty sure you will need some way of lifting and supporting the weight while you do the job tho 🙂

Ah ,you maybe right . Its good that your vigilant and spotted that before it turned up on your doorstep.
Sux tho that someone would try to sell that critical part with that damage .🙂
You can actually report such sales of defective items to ebay

Whole motor has to come apart....that's an Asian motor of some king, maybe a Suzuki.

I'd just grind it in place and tig it the best you can....maybe reinforce it with a plate of some kind then take it out and try to have it fly off...better off without I hate to say.
