I have a 1989 19ft Thundercraft that I have recently completed the interior restoration in. However, in the bow there are three cushions to sit on, one on each side and one in the front. There are storage compartments underneath the cushions. I have the original cushions to put back in the boat but I do not know what/ how they set on. Do the snap to thin plywood cut as the shape of the cushions? If anyone has a boat similar to this please reply with some pics of the front bow seats so I can see how they are made.

Thanks for the help.

Re: Thundercraft bow seat restoration

My maxum boat use's 1/2" plywood for the cushion base and 3/4"x 1" framing fastened on edge with stainless steel screws to the plywood base the shape of the cut out in the seat. It's probably a good idea to ad snaps as well to keep the cushions from flying around in rough seas.

Mine is a much earlier and smaller model but do they look anything like these?

If so they are made like a shallow box on the bottom and simply sit over the locker openings. There is a lip around the top edge of each locker that holds them in place and hinges on one side to open them.
