Thunderbolt V BTM and carb adjustment?

In reading another thread, it sounds like in order to correctly adjust the Carb air/fuel mixture on a TBV equipped engine it must be in BTM. Is this correct? Engine SN 0F7878780 is the engine in question.

Yes, otherwise the timing moves around while you are trying to adjust the mixture and the adjustment isn't right.

PS: Your SN you posted is too long. But it's not needed to answer that question.
