Is this aftermarket? Oem should have three wires, wht/grn, wht/red and a ground with a 3/8" ring terminal.

The bullet connectors should be opposed male/female. Can only hook up to module one way

This is aftermarket. Sensor has white plgtail, red plgtail and the 3/8" ring. Not sure if the white wire with red stripe from module goes to red or white pigtail.

As i said you can only connect the wires one way. There are opposing male/female connectors on both the module and sensor. Pretty much fool proof wiring.

The large ring terminal, 3/8" goes to the ground stud the battery ground is connected to on the flywheel cover

This is a 1984 Mercruiser thunderbolt ignition. The old sensor had terminals. No connectors.Wired from terminal to module. Just trying to figure if the red stripe from module goes to the red pigtail. Just trying to be sure. Already shorted one sensor. Thank-you

Got it, old style used ring terminals. Best advice I can give you is to get the oem sensor. It's more expensive but also comes with a wiring kit to attach bullet connectors to the ring terminals. Also the wire colors are appropriate

Not to mention the oem sensors have far less a failure rate than aftermarket

When I bought this boat I was told it ran.Worked on it most of the summer before I got to the motor. It fired once then died. No spark since.Opened distribe, full of corrosion. Changed cap rotor, sensor and coil. No spark.May have shorted new sensor. I think I may just go with the Delco EST. It's always nice to here the engine start in the middle of the lake. Thank-you for your input.

Let me know if I can help with that Delco if you go that route, fairly straight forward install, thanks
