Thunderbolt IV ignition rotor removal problem

i HAVE A THUNDERBOLT IV DISTRIBUTOR IN A 3,4L MERCRUISER. I AM HAVING A PROBLEM GETING THE ROTOR TO RELEASE OD THE SHAFT. IS THERE A TRICK TO THIS SEEMS ITS ON THERE REALLY GOOD. ANY SUGGESTIONS? THANKS

Yup, book says you gently pry from both sides by placing 2 screwdrivers 180 degrees apart.
The reason this is necessary is the rotor is held down by locktite.
So have a new rotor available, the one you are removing will probably be NG when you get it off the shaft.

ps. Ducatis are the nads, want one.

People I have heard from have had to destructively remove the rotor.... Some use a vicegrips, some use a dremel tool. be careful. Good luck.:p

Thanks Lieutenant! Have a new rotor was unsure and its tight. Have a 1978 Ducati GTS 900 had it since 78 great bike. Thanks Again, Rick

If you can't get it with the 2 levers and have to chop it off make sure to lay some rags under there to keep the shrapnel under control.
