Is there anyway to fix your old amplifier. They are so expensive I hate to throw it away. Does anyone know what generaly happens to them maybe just a diode or a micro fuse or broken trace. I have repaired lots of circuit boards. Am I just wasting my time or should i try and fix? Think of the money we could save.

I'm guessing the board is completely encapsulated/potted since they're designed for 'wet' use.
Certainly wouldn't hurt to open the case and have a look.

I don't know about the T4 modules, but the early style T5 had a plastic side plate. If it was removed, you can see the surface mount components. There is a goo over them to protect from corosion. The later style with two connectors, do not seem to provide any access to the board.

I have never heard of anyone that fixes them. I doubt you will be able to get a schematic, and some of the components are probably EOL (end of life).

The tb4 amplifier was NLA when I looked a couple of weeks ago. Unless someone has one in stock. There is a replacement number for them. Before you replace that module, check the module in the distributor. 90 of those go bad before one amplifier, they are tough. There is a tb4 troubleshooting chart here, do a search. With the meter you will know in short order what the problem is. Could be wiring, but I'm betting on the distrib module...
