I have just acquired an 1982 Cobalt that has a DataMarine LX200 installed. It appears to be working but with a wide variaty of depths (just jumping around). I located the transducer and it is a thru the hull type and was just laying in the bilge on its side.
Is there a way to glue this same transducer to the inside and use it like an inside the hull transducer puck?

Clean an area good and you can use clear silicone to adhere the transducer to the hull. Make sure there is not any air bubbles under the transducer when sticking it down.( The signal will not pass through air ).

Re: Thru the Hull Transducer

My instructions say no silicone and not to use 5 min epoxy ..the 24hr set stuff is recomended ...the fast set goes soft in water ....otherwise best place for it
