thru prop exhaust ????

79 johnson 35, elec start, non tiller, does this engine exhaust thru the prop as my older 60 evinrude did ??? g. dane put me a the track, now lookin for clarification on this..... also seem to have prop slip ??????? motor revs occasionaly while at wot...... have no other explanation for the rev,,,, can this happen ?????

Yes, it has thru hub exhaust and yes, it sounds like a spun prop.

Possible second explanation for the motor revving occasionally at WOT is prop ventilation.<br /><br />Some props and setups do this more than others ... but motor height is worth checking before you conclude you've got a spun hub.

thanks you gentlemen. thought it was thru prop exhaust, gonna take her down and see what's wrong. and motor height is an issue i also thought was my problem.... looks like old faithful behind my boat at wot,,, trimming does not effect the spray....... but will address the exhaust issue first...... thanks again....
