I have replaced all the thru hulls on my boat.Bronze below the waterline and marelon above.I am down to my last one which is a drain for a bait well.It connects to a 1 1/8 in. hose. The problem is that the marelon replacement for the 1 1/8 has a thread size of 1 1/4.The hole that it fits into is 1 3/8, so its a little loose. The less expensive and less quality 1 1/8 thru hulls have the correct 1 3/8 thread size.I want to use the marelon, but just wondering if there is something I am missing if I use it even though it is a little smaller than the hole size.I figure between the sealant and tightening up the nut it should not be a problem.

2600

Re: thru hulls

i think you will be OK. it suppose to have water in the live well. use lots of sealant. and make sure it is tight.
