Hi there,
I have a 2000, 205 crowline with a 5.7L merc. I am in the process of installing thru hull exhaust. Am installing the electric diverters. Getting close to where i need to drill the holes in the transom. The biggest question that i would have, is if there is some kind of template that can be put in place on the back of the transom in conjunction to the leg, for the holes would line up with the diverters?

Thanks,

Generally no. Measure, measure and measure again. Cut once.

I did a Corsa system on my Wellcraft. No pattern.
Install the diverters then set a straight edge along the top edge until it touches the transom. Repeat at 3 more points around them to create a circle mark on the inside of the transom.
Add the radius of the tube to find the center (my tubes were 4" diameter so the radius was 2").
Check it two or three times, then drill a small pilot hole for each side. Insert a stiff wire from the outside and see if it's exactly in the center of each diverter. If not, pilot again with appropriate adjustments.
Once you get the pilots centered, carefully drill your big holes. Be sure to seal any exposed wood and bed the tips in with 4200.
I'm a carpenter by trade and was a little worried about f'in it up....

Ya that seems like a pretty good way of doing it. I will give that a try too see how it will work for me.
