Can someone post a photo of the throttle return spring and anchor points on a 1986 QA131A Penta 275. Mine is missing and I'm not sure what the spring look like or where the anchor points are.. Thanks Bob

Most boats don't use a return spring, its the cable that should push the butterfly closed. Adjust the barrel nut so that there is a slight pressure holding it closed at idle.

Ayuh,.... As AD says, boat's don't run throttle return springs, the cable should be slightly pushin' tension against the idle stop screw,....

IF you have a PA44 carb.
The original spring is helical on the shaft, see the red line in my picture.
When the shaft gets old and does not rotate freely, the helical spring may not be good enough to do the job.
My throttle cable would retract completely leaving slack, but idle would never settle like I wanted.
I added a second spring (orange line).

On my boat, the throttle cable cannot 'push' the throttle closed.
Perhaps I'm missing an extra nut and spring on the cable end.
