I have a 1982 Century 2000 LX Closed Bow with a mercruiser 226, quiksilver side/panel mount shift. I recently redid the interior of the old girl. Prior to my redo, everything worked as it was suppose to. After I got it back together, my quiksilver shifter will not allow me to throttle only. The button is not sticking. I am able to depress the throttle only button, but the lever will not allow me to push it forward to give it gas. The lever works perfectly fine (once I get the engine started) to get the boat in and out of forward and reverse. It is difficult to cold start it not being able to give it throttle. When I let go of the throttle only button, I can hear and feel it click back out. Any ideas?
