Throttle Linkage

My '92 Johnson 150 was recently repaired at the local boat shop and the mechanic forgot to adjust the throttle linkage back to its original place: note: I had the unfortunate opportunity to find this out after the boat was launched. I took the cap off, loosened the clamp and used the adjuster and took the threads to about halfway and that allowed the motor to get on plane. My question is: without going back to the mechanic (done with him), how do i know when the linkage is adjusted correctly? is this done by trial and error while on the water or can I adjust it all the way in and see what happens? Any help appreciated.

Re: Throttle Linkage

you need a manual and need to do a link and sinc. look up your model number here, and clik on it. this gives you the correct manual for your engine. buy there or look on ebay for the number of the manual. aftermarket manuals are ok for somethings, but not this.
