Throttle cable adjustment

I have a 2001 SeaRay 180 with a 3.0 and it seems like I have to push the control lever forward about 3/4 of the way before the throttle moves. Is there an adjustment for that?

If so, it's probably pretty normal,.....

The controller has to shift the drive,....... Then advance the throttle, so it takes some distance,.....

+1 and you should do it quick, don't do it slow and hear the gears clattering
