Three wires labeled mercathode and one labeled tach not connected to anything

Should these be connected to something? they're just laying on top of the engine along with another wire that's capped labeled "tach"

The mercathode wire is for a "MerCathode system that provides protection against corrosion; galvanic corrosion to be exact. Most owners install it if they are leaving the boat in the water. It is an additional add on device. Its an electronic module that is wired to the boat's battery and prevents corrosion with a reverse current. I think the tach wire is an extra but not sure.

Thanks,

I assumed it was for that 'system' I guess all the engines are prewired for it ?

Most of the engines I have seen have had it.
