The spring was cold and windy. And there was frost, rain, wind into the end of May.
All of June it has been very windy and raining. I can't remember any days that it hasn't been raining or very windy. I ride/race bikes so I am very in touch with the wind and weather.
And its the weekend again and its raining. Supposed to rain all week.
I want to get my new boat wet and I don't think its going to happen until July!
I suppose I could tough it out, but loading an unfamiliar boat with the rain and wind blowing at 60kmh sems more like a chore than fun.

Until the last week, our weather here in South Florida has been depressing. Not same as your, but rain, rain, rain.

Past week has been beautiful though. Hopefully, your weather will break for you.

Sea ya...

I truly feel for you ricohman.

We get to boat for a solid six months and up to eight if ya like fishing. The Dec-March wait feels like forever.

I always wondered how the passion played out in the Great White North when there is such precious little time.

Re: This weather is depressing...

We have 2-3 months of reasonable boating weather. But it can snow any month of the year. The boats can be decades old and see very little use.
Which explains why my new boat has zero hours in late June.
Three of my friends went north to Jan lake last week and it was only slightly above freezing. The rented Lund was ok in calm bays but they could not make it out to any of their favorite spots. The weather has been getting colder and colder for the past 5-6 years.

It was 7 degrees above freezing this morning but they are forecasting +20 for the weekend....and no rain!
I am going to get my new boat wet and I can't wait. I only hope the wind isn't blowing 50-60 again.
Maybe summer is here.
It really came down last night and the boat ended up with some water in it again. I need to solve my cover issues.

I feel fortunate that we don't have the cold here (I hate cold weather). The temperatures have been in the 80s-90s for over a week now, which would be absolutely amazing for boating. However, with those awesome temps has come unrelenting wind. Whitecaps on the lake for weeks.

Re: This weather is depressing...

Here in NJ we have a heatwave. Yesterday it was 90*F with high humidity. Today it will be 95+*F with high humidity, and I live 3 miles from the ocean, on the bay. The weekend is supposed to be fabulous, if we survive the cold front-driven thunderstorms expected tomorrow.

All -in -all it has been cool here in NJ. The Bay is about the same temp as the ocean which is unusual for this time of year. The bay will normally shadow the air temp, while the ocean slowly warms. The bay will usually be in the high 70s by now, with the ocean in the high 60s. The bay was once 92*F at my dock on July 4th.

Between the heat and all the rain here in central Florida our horseback riding and boating time is taking a beating. This has got to be the wettest June I can remember.

Our weather in central Indiana has been great, almost too nice. Sunny and hot, every day. My biggest concern is that of lack of rain. I am afraid my lake will be down so far shortly that the process of launching and loading will be impossible.

we all have problems. we have been having great weather, but the boat is not ready to be splashed. So close, but then it will rain the rest of the summer. God willing it will be back from the shop this week.

I'd rather have some rain then weeks of +100 degree weather any day.
Don't know how people can survive in that heat.
Been nice on the east coast though...week of sun day of rain...thunderstorms forecasted for the weekend though.

Re: This weather is depressing...

Enjoy your boating this weekend Ricohman, I am jealous. I am stuck going to a wedding and won't be back to the lake till next weekend. Hopefully it will be nice for July long weekend. It is supposed to be 27-28 at Waskesiu so that will be awesome! Now if my boat is still above water when I get back to the lake all will be good, so paranoid this time... Had a dream I walked up and found boat below the surface... Happy boating!!

Tomorrow is the day. Calling for sun and light winds. It was only +6 this morning but the heat is finally coming.
Need to get some fishing gear ready.
Can I troll a bit with a new motor?

I was watching that. But its supposed to be nice into next week. Had enough rain already. All the seed in the garden has rotted.
