THERMOSTATS FOR 100HP JOHNSON

hi,<br /> i have a '79 100hp. johnson that i want to check the thermostats. does anyone know of a easy way because, it looks like either you have to remove all of the bottom cowling or the whole power head.it looks like there isn't enough room to remove just the thermostat housing. i would pick the cowling. any ideas? <br /> THANKS,LIKEAROCK

Never done it before, Chevy. But I remember the same question was posed about 2 months ago. You might try backing up thru the posts.
