Thermostat

i HAVE NO ENGINE TEMPERATURE AND NEED TO REPLACE THE THERMOSTAT. THERE IS A WHITE PLASTIC COLLOR THAT NEEDS TO COME OUT TO REMOVE THE THERMOSTAT. I CAN NOT MOVE THE COLLOR i DO NOT WANT TO BREAK IT! DO YOU HAVE ANY SUGESTION?

I broke mine to replace my t-stat.

I broke mine. No big deal, I bought another. Now, my new T-stat housing uses a brass sleeve instead.......and I even bent-up one of those.

Working on a mercruiser 3.0 07 with no temp don't whether or not thermostat, sensorsor, gauge, starting with the themostat, it has plastic collar above the thermostat but looks like would ruin collar to remove
