Evinrude 60hp triple 1995
Model no BE60TLEOC

Today i took off the thermostat to have a check and clean up etc.

well i am not suprised now that my engine runs very cold, the thermostat was fitted wrongly
and also its stuck solid.
put it in boiling water and nothing happened at all, not the slightest movement.

A spare one i have works at around the right temp But the centre pin comes out. !!!!!!!!!!!!

what i want to know is this.
should the centre pin of the thermostat be able to come out, making this a 2 part item ? is this normal ?

I ask as one thermostat i have dont come apart at all.
The other one that seems to be working fine comes apart in two bits.
I.e the little pin comes out the end.

pic below to show what i mean by 2 parts

thermo 2.jpg

if this is meant to be 2 part then i have a spare one thats good.

first time ive come across this type of thermostat to be honest.
