I have a 1990 Johnson GT150. Where are the thermostats located? Thanks.

Re: Thermostat Location

Hi Greg...

The thermostats are located at the top of each head. Look for a four bolt cover on each head. The T-stats will be behind them. Be aware that there is a spring that holds the t-stat in place. So if you do take the cover off, hold onto it.

Re: Thermostat Location

Thanks OutboardJim. I found them and removed the one. My motor was getting much hotter on one side, than the other. However, my horn was not going off. I have been having trouble with my motor running rough and no power for the first 10 minutes or so. This happen everytime I first start out. Once the motor runs for a few minutes it runs great. Not sure if the thermostat is bad, however it sure looks old. I am going to pick up a new one and give it a go. I am going to also replace the plastic device as well. Any input?
