Thermostat Housing Rebuild

Hi Team
Rebuilding the Thermostat Housing on our 4.3l V6.
Question, Gasket Cement on the Cork Gasket that goes into the Housing before the Thermostat goes in?
And same question for the Gasket that has the Brass Inserts that goes between the Thermostat Housing and the Motor Body?

Personally I wouldn't use any adhesive on anything. Only place I might use is the paper gasket but that would only be used if the surfaces were not smooth

Ayuh,...... Use Perfect Seal, if you use anything,.....

Yes, cork gasket goes in first... very important...
Try not to cover the brass rivets with anything if you do add any sealer .

Went without any Gasket sealer in the end. All went back together mint. And we’ve now got a functioning Thermostat and it’s reading around 160 on the Temp Gauge!
Now to get the Tach working 🤦‍♂️

It’s not reading on the Gauge. Faria gauge.
On the back side of the gauge there ought to be a selector switch for the number of engine cylinders, sometimes the switch needs to be exercised after awhile. Usually with a small flathead screwdriver, turn the switch back and forth a few times landing the arrow right back on the number that fits your engine size and see if that helps any.
