Thermostat gaskets 3.0 merc

I removed the old thermostat. It looks liks a gasket is in the bottom. Took it out . Is the rubber oring correct or the cork? The kit has too many. Also the top gasket has one thats foll and another with a hole on the middle. Just want to make sure all is correct.

A picture of the thermostat housing and cover would help and year and serial number of the engine.

Ok. Clean the surfaces, use the gasket wit the big hole on the top plate. Use the o-ring under the thermostat.

The biggest 1 has 2 metal grommets in it.I was thinking about using the next one.That doesn't have grommets .What do you think

I also cleaned out a cork gasket from underneath the thermostat.And replaced that with the cork gasket that came in the kit oring too tall with that in there for plastic retainer to be level.

Ah, ok, so it had the cork to begin with. Good. The gasket with the metal grommets is for the ones with a temperature sensor or overheat sensor in the cap. You can use the regular one for your application.
