I have to agree completly on this statement, and I have made the same statement myself before. This is why I dont "Recommend" it to anyone else. I am using it in the wifes RX/7 just because its a personal vendeta to see how far I can actually keep it running. Because I dont believe that in this application its doing any damage. If its slowing the wear of the apex seals and other rotor seals, thats all I care about. As far as the boat goes, Not sure if I will continue the use or not. Probably will untill I use up what I have.<br /><br /> Wow, Im actually on TODs side on this one, sort of. <br /><br /> You didnt call Russ did Ya?? Maybe you could straighten him out on a few things, or visa versa.

Rodbolt- I agree with you completely, and i am most certainly not the type who waits till it breaks.....I am constantly inspecting and maintaining my engine. I am also always just lookin at things to help, like seafoam etc. I simply ran across this product and wanted to see what people thought of it in a marine application. I just like to do all i can, and prevent all i can...thats all. well said though, i totally agree

My biggest issue with that test is that it was done right after militec was added, and then run until it "died"<br /><br />I would like to see what happens when the motor runs under normal conditions and then sits for a winter. thats the true test....

Bleach (calcium hypochlorite ~5% in water) is slick on your fingers because it is an alkaline oxidizer and is dissolving the skin on the tips of your fingers. The slickness you feel is from dissolved skin, not the bleach. If you put 2 pieces of metal in a solution of bleach (and keep your fingers out of the picture) and rub the metal together I doubt the friction will be any different than in just plain old water.

If bleach is slick, how come the old timers will carry a bottle in thier trunk and put bleach on the rear tires to get a little more traction when they get stuck in ice and snow? I'd go with jimd on the above post.

without seeing the condition of the bores and measuring the pistons I cant say which are rebuildable and which are not.<br /> and I doubt you can either .<br /> repairable and rebuildable mean a lot of different things to different folks. I see bores honed and pistons reused all the time. most not for long.<br /> most the time if you clean up a bore its oversize. not always, but thats why they make measuing instruments. my uncle overheated a 85 35 jonny so bad it dieseled and ran away. it finnaly popped the head gasket and quit. ate part of the defelector off both pistons. no scored walls though. took .015" off the head to flatten it and replaced the t-stat and water pump and water deflectors and off it went again. that was in 96 and the motor still runs.<br /> so while it may work its cheaper just to keep all the subsystems in good maintenance and dont worry.

Hmmm I may have to eat that one, (Not the first time), but why does it work when subjected to the bearing test? Im only going on what I saw one time a long time ago, so Im willing to put that into the "MYTH" file if its wrong.

Like I said earlier, Russ is willing to talk to anyone, give him a call and see if he can dispell any concerns you may have. He told me that he has not seen any problems in any engine over the twenty years he has been selling the stuff.

Good question gss what does bleach do to tires? Did it melt the snow and ice?<br /> Drag racers do a bleach burn out why? <br />Does it make them sticky?<br />or does it make them spin easy to get them hot and sticky?

That is true "doc" Just like the little test we did (With Seafoam). That test ment nothing just like the one that Ben Walker is going to do. I think that all the post from people that has used seafoam over the years means more than any test that any one of us does. BTW you didn't or don't hear people talking about how good slick 50 is or was other than people selling it, Just like this militech stuff. Tim
