Want to remember why your father hated Japs so badly, rent and watch this movie about Bataan and the POW treatment by our good friends from the civilized world.

Re: The Great Raid

my dad had no hatred of japanese, a man I worked for did.
if the customer looked asian my boss would not serve them, one of us had to.
he had gotten a chance to spend some time on some kind of prison ship in japan.
I have read extensivly about the japanese treatment of prisinoners both US and other nationalities.
was incredibly brutal.
however the unit 731 division skated with no war crimes tribunals. how ya figgue that happened ? anyone ever care to read about unit 731? I really thought not.
just means the japs were better negotiators than the Nazis.

From Wikipedia: "Many of the scientists involved in Unit 731 went on to prominent careers in politics, academia and business. The United States granted amnesty allowing these scientists to go unprosecuted in exchange for their data."

do a bit of research.
unit 731 killed more than hitler . hitler exterminated some 6 million jews and almost 7 million christians.
the nazis got war crimes cause most their vitimes were white, the japs got amnesty cause most theirs where asian.
its very simple.

Easy rodbolt, this is the first I'd heard of Unit 731. I quoted a paragraph that stated why the US didn't prosecute. From what I've read so far, Unit 731 did horrible things (experiments) to prisoners from all the nations Japan was at war with.

Re: The Great Raid

Rod, I am going to take some time to look into unit 731. My Dad was just a kid of 17 in 1942 when he signed up and went to war. When he died he still refused to drive Jap cars, fly in Mitsubishi airplanes, and avoided all products he could made in Japan.

I had an uncle POW in Germany (bomber pilot) and he felt the same about the Germans. Despised them and did not care about the Berlin wall or anything else bad happening to them. He weighed 87 pounds when he was rescued and suffered stomach problems his entire life.

What amazes me on both counts is how we taken these countries and VN as our great friends and yet still hold a grudge against Cuba. Somethings are just too political for me.

For once I agree with you rodbolt.

The Japanese were very very brutal. I would even go to say they are more brutal than the radical muslims were are fighting now.

That's it and me looking at a new Maxima. No way back to American made.

I am really interested in these evil people. And no war criminal charges. Wow what a snafu.
