The dreaded DO NOT REMOVE SCREW PLUG ON PORT SIDE

Hi Boaters, Well I just got another boat someone trying to winterize the lower unit pulled the plug on port side housing under OMC badge *may have fallen off to expose screw or owner was over zellious and pealed it off who knows what happens afert a few cold ones.. thinking it was the water drain (well kinda is but not the one to remove it's under pivit point of unit)WOOPS Anyway a quick fix is to:::
1st probe hole with small stick magnet aslo compressed air shot in hole at different angles makes it move some time. This makes the bar nut that should be glued in atainable remove it "if not in there good for you" move to next step Go get a Rubber freeze plug expandable type at auto parts $3.00 size is 1" to 1-1/8" grind rubber flat spot to make it match housing hole feel with finger to see what I mean put in hole tighten DONE GO BOATING
