I am a truly sorry individual.Due to the heat in my garage,I pretty much quit working on the Traveler until the weather cools a bit. It's been anywhere from 90-98 every single day now for the last two months. There is no way in Hell I'm putting on that "toxic waste" suit with the respirator and sanding on that thing in this kind of weather.I've been funneling all of my spare time into getting the three Evinrudes back up to par,and culling the local Trout herd.
The latest update: The stringers are replaced, and well as the inner transom brace. The seat risers have been re-installed.I have actually installed a floor in the boat.Everything has several nice coats of epoxy and it all watertight. The top half of the boat has been sanded, but I need to get the thing off of the trailer and flip it upside down soon to finish everything. While I'm here, does anyone have a clue how to get the boat off of the trailer and flipped up on to a few sawhorses? Can't get any help from the "friends".
Lools like this is going to be a solo operation.

I just flipped mine back yesterday. You are not goint to do it alone, took me, my son at 25 and the one at 14. We just barely managed to get it up on side, and I think mine is a light boat.

What would you consider "light"?
I've done some extensive calculations using my fancy slide rule and lots of Bourbon :D .
Mine appears to weigh around 650lbs.I'm a squirmy little fart of a guy, so this should be exceptionally fun.I'm thinking of jacking it up with a set of hydraulic auto jacks and then just driving the trailer out from under it.Not too sure what the next step should be..

Mine is around the same weight. Getting it on/off trailer is no issue, I have a roller trailer. But flipping it buttom's up is another thing.

Mine will be done with about 5 - 6 people, and some ropes off the bow.

I will lift the bow up, and use the ropes to pull the bow vertical, then use some more ropes from the bow to lower it back down onto some stands that will support the boat from inside, against the floor. I will post some pics when I do it.

P.S. don't hold your breath, it will be a few months yet!

I suppose I'm going to have to ply the neighborhood hoodlums with "consumables" to get this thing flipped over.At any rate, I got several motors that need to make some noise before I even think about the boat. Besides, It's still way too hot.I'll wait until the fall and worry then.

Re: The Arkansas Traveler Update

May I offer a suggestion here?

If you have the money, the time, the space, and the capability . . . why not build a simple gantry [a boat lift] of sorts using 4 x 4 posts set far enough apart so that your trailer can be backed underneath it. Then using two come-along's and some 3" cargo straps sling the boat and raise it up from the trailer. The posts should be placed in the ground and preferably set in concrete. Four 4 x 4 posts will suffice if the boat only weighs ~650 lbs. It will certainly cost less that buying boat lift. Just remember . . . safety first.

As far as turning it over . . ..
