One of my umm, "well to do" boating clients got to talking with me about selling his used car, a 1994 Rolls Royce Silver Spur with 46,xxx miles on it. He is asking $17K but $15K would probably buy it.

The admiral will have my hide if I do it but..... man is that one sweet ride on the highway! Not only that, I look good in it. :facepalm:

Posh cars, like posh women, are very high maintenance and very expensive to own, Bubba. Got a few grand for annual routine maintenance?

a friend bought a old roller many years ago but his wife insisted on riding in the back when they went out and treated him like a chauffeur so he ended up selling in a hurry.

Not to be a wet rag (or start a cell phone thread), but I hope those things drive better than they look. That one just looks like a Lincoln with a fat grille to me. If you're gonna' go through all of the hassle and expense of owning a car of that caliber, it had better deliver on all fronts ... comfort, performance and looks. YMMV

Yes it does look like you are trying on different scenarios to convince yourself.

The real key here is to get your...okay spouse (boss)...to want it! So you have to get her to want it and then you are golden... And if all that fails...try begging... Oh the shame...the shame... :embarassed: :doh: :grouphug:

even at 15 it's not much of a deal. retail is around $19 so wholesale is about $8 and with that, records of perfection are needed. maintenance will kill you and it must be maintained professionally or you will never resell.

It's so comfortable, it would really help your back on long trips...
Even Cadillac drivers get out of the way for a Rolls...
Extremely safe car to drive, no one wants to hit a Rolls and pay for it...
It's got 16 speakers and you know how you love your music...

ask the owner if he can take your wife for a ride in it but blindfold her until she is sitting in it cuz if she dont like how it looks you will never get it.
but if she rides in it she will want it.

my wife refused to even entertain the thought of buying a truck till she sat in a gmc sierra denali edition.
now i own a sierra slt. its one step down from the denali.
i cant for the life of me get her to drive anything else.
she says once we pay off the truck she wants the denali version
btw i find women who drive trucks real hot
