well after 8 hours i got my outdrive on, i called my father in law to help me, when he help me it slid right on, but now when put in foward or rev. its allitle stuborn, and clicks really loud when turning it forward or rev. is it because the is no oil in it or is something else wrong.

You mean you ran it with no oil in it?

Are you crazy? Put it away for the night and pry to the outdrive gods. You are going to need some big luck now.

im sorry i meant i tured it by hand the prop. lol im not that dumb hehe

When you say it clicks - hopefully you mean without the engine running and you turn the prop by hand when it is in gear... right? With the outdrive in forward gear, the prop can be spun clockwise and it will click. The opposite for reverse. If that's what you mean... then, yes, that's normal.

If you ran it without oil, then all bets are off!

Ayuh,.....

It's Supposed to Click, or maybe Clunk, when turned over the dog-clutch,....
It Locks Up when you turn it the other way,.. Correct,..??

Turn the prop BOTH directions. One way will ratched (loudly) and the other will catch and you can't turn it.
Don't feel like explaining why right now.

well im glad theres nothing wrong then im glad im going to fill her up with lower unit oil tomorrow and run on muffs to see how it does. yes it locks one way and the other makes a clunk rachet sound. but thanks again everyone. thanks for putting up with me don and walking me though.
