Took the Texas Maid with twin power to the lake yesterday. Photo of her in one of the boat slips is attached. She ran out well and we were making upwards of 25 mph when the clutch dog in the Big Twin started slipping (groan). More work to be done there. Wound up trolling from spot to spot and fishing with the Johnson 18 hp, we couldn't coax the Big Twin into staying in gear. Nice day, caught a couple of small bass and didn't get run over by the Jet Flea crowd. Luckily I have a LU from a 56 Lark that I can slip on the Big Twin, the way it's LU was jerking I'm afraid to see what that clutch dog looks like...but that's a project for this weekend or next. Boat worked out nicely as a cruiser and fishing platform. Not much torque steer with this arrangement. Guess I'll have to paint the top deck and keep her for awhile.

Well at least you weren't stranded. Good luck getting the kinks worked out. I expect to have many to work out on mine too if it ever makes it to the water.:D
