Testing Ignition Switch?

I have a 94 Mariner 40hp with an electric problem that I want to test the Ignition Switch? Any ideas?

I've been looking around too. I found some tests on other websites, but didn't make much sense to me. Found the following thread here:

Try this using a voltmeter. Clip the black lead to ground at the fuse panel. Set the meter switch to the 15V scale (or whatever scale will read 12V).
OFF position: Touch the red test lead to all switch terminals. The only terminal that should have +12V on it is the +12V terminal.
ON/RUN: +12V on ACC (accessory) terminal. +12V on the +12V terminal.
START: +12V on the start terminal. +12V on the terminals previously tested.
CHOKE: Push in on the key in the RUN position. +12V on the choke terminal.

Disconnect the ground test lead. Set the meter to Rx1 to measure resistance.

OFF: Measure between the two "M" (magneto) terminals. Should measure continuity.
RUN: Measure between the two "M" terminals. Should measure open.

If any test fails you need a switch or you measured wrong.

Thanks Silvertip for your expertise. I performed the test and found that the yellow/red stripe wire only produced 9.4 volts. Also, couldn't find the magneto "m" terminals but I'll keep looking. So, could that mean the switch needs replacement.
