When you first go to the photo in Google Photos, it'll look like this:


Click on the photo so the screen looks like this:


Then you want to right click and select <<COPY IMAGE ADDRESS>>


Then select the photo icon from the Advanced Editor and paste the address in there.

I am. And, you can.

I don't use my phone for much web browsing (or my iPad either).

On your computer, open your browser and go to Google. Log in to your Google ID, and up in the right side of the screen you'll see a drop down menu (looks like a grid pattern). Google Photos will be in that drop down.

Or you can just Google "Google Photos"

so how do we share, generally? When I go to the shared area it wants specific people. And do I have to share a specific album (which I have not built just main area).

But...

when i am on a diff browser as a guest here and not signed into google I can see some pics if i use some stupid steps to get a short URL. The long one is a no go. Prob is the pic I see is the same on all the ones I post, when I see different ones when I'm logged in.

post 52 and 53 are the same as guest not logged in on FF. I see updated ones when logged in.

I just checked your kitchen thread: I can see your images logged into iBoats in Safari, not logged in to iBoats on Chrome and on Firefox.

yeah I logged out of Chrome and iboats and cleared cache. Still see the kitchen thread same pics duplicated, signed back in here and now can see the two diff pics.

I guess I'll go figure out how to share an album and dump some pics in there.

ok as guest on IE and FF and not logged into google I can see #48 and 49, as well as on Chrome logged into both.

Can you all see them?

if you can see them, what I've done to get short URL that seems to work is in the gallery, right click and open in new tab then right click and get pic link/address or whatever your browser states

interesting, on my forum it is completely random which ones are showing up.

I'm seeing everything in Safari, Firefox and Chrome. 1 image in #49, 1 image in #50, 1 in #52 and 2 images in #54.

It doesn't give you an option of sharing in general. BUT, if you've set it up in a shared album it warns you that anyone with the link can view the image. That's the same URL as you're entering in the VB editor.

Yep, see them in 49 and 50 as well 52 and the same baby pix twice in 54

redneck joe I can't see any of your photos using Chrome or Firefox. Are you putting the photos in a dedicated album first? That;s what i was doing when I did my test. If I tried to just link the photos without doing that, they wouldn't show up.

ok i guess i'm an idiot - when i try to put into a shared album that i just created when i click share icon then to shared album (not create new) all i get is 4 pictures i've apparently already shared? Cannot see my newly created album?

i remember reading in the internets yesterday that you can share to your google + {which is public} then go there and get your link.

seems like there would be more chatter out there on this but I didn't have too much luck with it.
