There's a buncha' other sites too - flickr, shutterfly, smugmug - the list is pretty endless. I'm really careful about what I put online, so I can understand your hesitation.

Ain't that the truth. The only stuff in my PB account is the stuff I post here. Nothing of a personal nature at all,

I never use any 'cloud' storage for anything personal (same as you, just images that go up here, and I keep a back up). Anything personal and important is all on hard drives, backed up and stored off site (my mothers' house)...

Thanks southkogs I saw that post, but photobucket has really messed up the few hundred photo's I have there over the years, so I don't really trust them anymore. Recently I went to log on there, and it wouldn't let me, because I hadn't visited there in quite awhile, (which should never happen!) but they upgraded the site so it became quite a hassle for me to get that fixed.

Whoa Dude! Are you saying they did an upgrade that went bad?

I think there's some sort of 'time-out' if you don't log-in for so many months. I believe a lot of site implemented that because hackers were getting into dormant accounts and running rampant... I've had a few sites I don't visit often (enough) ask security questions when I (eventually) log in, and some the account is just gone.... If you're interested, do a search on 'Lewek Constellation'... That's the vessel (180 metres/600 feet long, with a 3,000 ton crane on it!!!).

I would say that's likely what happened. I'm actually in kinda' similar fix in that the Silverline owners group uses a Yahoo group, and I next to never log in to the Yahoo name I created to be part of the group. I still get the emails right now, but can't actually log into the group on Yahoo.

All the passwords and logins get to be a real pain in the stern at some points.

Photobucket, Yes I posted a lot of pix there, in a certain order, with captions, a few years ago. I went back recently, tried to log in, and it took me to one girls site under the name "MikDee" with one pic on it??? I kept trying to contact them, but with their canned computerized response, I couldn't get through! In the meantime, I just began thinking all my pix are gone? All that time, & work was for naught!? Panic set in, and I tried every which way to reach a living person,,, Finally, I did get through, and they made it right, but most of my Pix there are scrambled in the folders, and have either the wrong caption, or the words, are cut off, and make no sense  I was going to try, and fix it, but was afraid I'd lose more by doing that, so I gave that up as a bad idea, and just accept what's there as is. In fact, I don't even know if can edit anything there? I didn't see any "Edit" button?

I've been with PB for quite a while. They seem to make changes on a regular basis. I'm on their site on a semi regular basis and haven't noticed any major issues.. Edit is still there..... Click on any pic and Edit is above that pic......

I've been using photobucket for about 10 years, no problems (apart from then constantly changing the log-on page)...
