Hi,
I'm working on my 1990 Bayliner Capri with 4.3 mercruiser. The prop that is on the outdrive is bent and i definatly need to replace it. The boat came with 2 extra props......one is salvageable the other is pretty chewed up...used in saltwater.

I'm doing this on the "cheap" so I have a buddy who works at a company that Tephlon coats metal. He can hook me up so I was wondering should I have him coat the extra salvageable prop? Worthwhile?

Is it worth stripping down the prop, it's basically white and pitted, but the coating would make it smooth? Trying to avoid the $190 the shop quoted me for a new prop.

Thanks!

There are 8 or 10 props here at iboats for $90 to $130.
My only worry about the coating is if it doesn't take and starts to flake off
you could end up with some problems.
