Hey all,

I just bought a FARIA water temp gauge and the appropriate sending unit. My questions is, where do I find the actual sending wire that connects to the back of the gauge and to the sending unit?

Can I create my own with 18 gauge wire? Any tips?

Thanks!

Re: Temp sending unit wire? Create my own?

On my old boat and motor 83 evinrude 75 HP, I had installed a temp gauge also. I put the sending unit on the head with the supplied bracket and ran my own 16 gauge wire to behind the dash to supply the gauge itself. I ran the wire so that it was incorporated into the existing wire loom to the remote control and then used my own loom to get under the dash. So to answer your question, yes you can run your own wire, and on older applications probably have to.
