Telltale issue!!!

I have a 1961 mercury 800 6 cyl, and it starts up just fine. Just one problem!! I am not getting any water out the telltale!! I checked my impeller and it seemed good however I did change it out since I had the new one come in! Does anyone know where the telltale is located on this motor? I just got the boat and like I said it starts just fine but no telltale. I didn't run it for more than a min for that same reason. Don't want to over heat my motor. I've never heard of a motor that doesn't have a telltale. Could this be the first???

For what it's worth, I have had some kind of little dirt dauber fill mine up with dirt, which blocked it up temporarily. That was on a 50 hp, though. Not sure where yours is located, but once found, check for dirt. Good luck. Other more knowlegable folks will probably have better info.

I don't think tell-tale were installed on egines in the 60's?
My 1969 evinrude did not have 1 .
All the water either exited throught exhaust or through prop.
should be easy to check out though ,Just look for 1/4" hose plugging in skirt right below where cowling mounts to motor.

Thanks for the help!! I didnt have a chance to do much work on my boat yesterday but I'll take a look at it today!! I'll keep you posted to what I find!!
