Re: Tell us how old is your boat?

1956 Industrial Hull Cold Moulded Mahogony 14 ft 10 inch with a 1956 Lark Evinrude 30 hp motor.

I have a very similar set-up. A mid to late 50s, maybe a very early 60s Cadillac cold moulded ply-lap runabout. Currantly in storage for winter and will resume restoring it this spring.

Also just picked up a '56 Evinrude Lark to go on her.

Here's what she looked like when I brought her home.

Re: Tell us how old is your boat?

KingHarcor I had a wood boat for a few years. I've always liked them, but mine was possessed I think. It had been wrecked on the ocean and a friend bought it, put a new transom in it, brought it up to north Idaho and let it sit outside for 5 to 10 years. He helped me and we refiberglassed it and I put a Redwood romovable deck, seat, and topped to bow with it. Clear coat epoxy over everything, with some light sand for a nonskid on the deck. When I got it it was 16.5 ft long, and 8 feet wide. Put a 50 hp Merc on it. Best looking boat I ever had. First year we were 20 miles away on the lake and the shifting lever in the newly bought at a marina and everything fixed motor, came apart. Second year, wife brought it in to the dock too fast and put a whole in it. Third year I hit a submerged log and put a hole in it. Fourth year summer went ok, then we had to move it outside for a week and it poured rain and then froze hard and took the bottom out. next spring I helped it find a big bonfire. Hope you have batter luck. Most are great boats, beautiful but take a lot of care.

Re: Tell us how old is your boat?

1985 Bayliner Capri w/ Force 85 HP O/B. Replacing entire deck & doing custom interior & seating. This is my first boat & I love it, I don't need to 100 mph on the water(in fact, don't think I'd want to). This boat does everything I want- Wake boarding, Tubing, Fishing & just cruzing around. Do I wish I had a bigger, maybe 19/20' with I/O, yes, but this is cool for now. Other than a softball size hole in the deck everything else works fine. Just hope I don't need stringer & Transom replacement, Guess I'll find out soon enough.
